Deputation: One Year In
A full year of deputation has been completed! Where once I had been dreading how long it would take to raise support, I now look back and am thankful for all of the places I have been able to visit and the experiences I have had. I am even thankful for the difficult times because God’s hand of care and protection was always there. It may seem that I am repetitive in these deputation newsletters, but I am glad for the opportunity to share how God is working.
I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. Psalm 145:5
January’s scheduled meetings had me back in Arizona. I had a few car issues, one right after the other; but once again, the churches I was attending were able to provide. I was also excited to reconnect with a few college friends at a few different churches.
At the beginning of February, I was able to head over to BIMI to create a video presentation. I know, I went a full year without one. But this was another circumstance that I had been dreading for not very good reasons, and now I am so thankful with how it turned out. If you haven’t had the chance to watch, the video is posted on my blog site. Toward the end of February, I was able to have a good streak of churches, mission’s conferences, and mission’s apartments provided.
March was a full month of traveling between North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania. I really enjoy mission’s conferences because of the extended stay with a church instead of just meeting people for one service. And as one conference speaker said, these conferences are meant to refuel us, and they definitely do.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalm 23:3
I am now at 56% of my support, praise the Lord! It feels so good to be past the half-way mark. Some prayer requests I’d like to leave with you are for my schedule to get filled up for the rest of 2022 and for Tim and Debra Tyler who are the missionaries I will be helping in Romania because they have opened up their Bible college dorm’s to a few Ukrainian missionaries. If you would like to find out more information about that or give to their needs, you can go to their website, tylero.org, or through the BIMI website, bimi.org.
Thank you so much for how you have contributed in any way: for your support, prayers, and encouragement.
In Christ,
Olivia West
